The 6th International Conference on Ethics Education in 2018 will be hosted in South Africa. In the last 10 to 15 years, South Africa has been very actively involved in offering a wide array of medical ethics and research ethics training courses on undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as continuous professional development programmes.

In addition, there is a growing number of community leaders, politicians and academics from a wide variety of disciplines (e.g. Arts, Humanities, Management Sciences, Education, ICT and Engineering) that recognise the importance of fostering ethics education skills amongst school teachers and university lecturers in order to facilitate ethics awareness, ethics development and ethics reasoning at all educational levels, particularly tertiary level.
